Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brown or White Rice
  • 2 cups Bone Broth
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt, less if broth is salted
  • 1/2 tsp Optional: Turmeric
  • This recipe is great during times of nausea, during + after illnesses, and when healing postpartum. It is a great gut healing food that warms the belly. Turmeric helps to decrease inflammation. Soaking or "sprouting" rice releases the phytic acid that is difficultfor humans to digest. All grains, nuts + seeds are best consumed sprouted. It takes some extra time, but once you get in a daily habit, it becomes second nature.

Instructions

  1. Soak rice in clean filtered water for 6 or more hours for optimal digestion.
  2. Drain + rinse the rice well.
  3. Bring broth to a boil then add rice, sea salt, and turmeric.
  4. Reduce to a simmer, cover + cook for 20 minutes for white rice or 40-45 minutes for brown or wild rice.
