Enchilada Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Butter or Coconut Oil
- 1 small Onion, diced
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 14 oz can of Canned Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 cup Bone or Veggie Broth
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- 1 Tbsp Cumin, ground
- 1 Tbsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Chipotle Powder, optional
Instructions
- Heat a medium sauce pan on medium high heat.
- Add butter and disperse around the pan.
- Sautee the onion + garlic for 2 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, bone broth, and spices.
- Salt + Pepper to taste.
- The chipotle can be quite hot, add to your taste.
- Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly then transfer to a blender.
- Blend on high until smooth.
- Store in a quart-sized jar in the refrigerator or use immediately on your favorite enchilada set.
