Spiced Sweet Potatoes

Spiced Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2-3 large Sweet potatoes
  • 1 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp each spice Ground spices - cumin, coriander, paprika, smoked paprika (not hot), chili powder, dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp each spice Garlic powder, ground allspice, ground black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400F/200C.
  2. Combine all spices in a small bowl.
  3. Cut sweet potatoes lengthwise, skin on, into 3/4" thick rounds. Place into a large bowl and toss with vegetable oil.
  4. Using your hands, toss the spice mixture with the potatoes.
  5. Place potatoes into a single layer on baking trays (typically 2). Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Using a metal spatula, flip potatoes onto opposite sides. Return to oven swapping tray positions on racks, so the tray that started on the bottom rack is now on the top rack. Bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender.
  7. Optional: Using a metal spatula, move potatoes to a cutting board and cut into "French fry cut".
  8. Serve spiced potatoes hot with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side.
